1 Victim of Lassa Fever Dies In Delta

One person has been confirmed dead in Asaba, the Delta state capital, due to Lassa Fever, says the State Government.

It was gathered that the victim, a middle-aged lady, passed on at the Federal Medical Center in Asaba on Wednesday.

This is coming as another case of the disease has been confirmed in the State.

According to the Commissioner for Health Nicholas Azinge who made this disclosure, the other case is being treated and the patient is responding to treatment.

Recall that the World Health Organization (WHO) had on Monday revealed that three persons have died in Taraba state after an outbreak of Lassa fever

According to WHO, 12 cases have been reported, with three persons confirmed dead; while three positive cases have been placed under close monitoring.
