Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan Receives International Global Peace Award In Tanzania

Former first lady Patience Jonathan has received an international Global Peace Award.

She received the award in Tanzania on 19 November, 2017.

Patience Jonathan, also known as Mama Peace, was honoured with this award for her immense contribution to fostering peace in Africa.

She was first lady from 2010 to 2015.

Mrs Jonathan has received other global awards for her philanthropic work and political pragmatism.

In 2008 she received the “Beyond The Tears”, an international humanitarian award in New York, United States. She was recognised for her contribution in the global fight against HIV/AIDS.

Mrs Jonathan is also a recipient of the African Goodwill Ambassador Award (Los Angeles, USA, 2008), and also the “Wind of Change” Award from the South/South Women’s Organisation.
