The year 2015 will be a difficult one for Nigeria, Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweal said yesterday.

Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Okonjo-Iweala who is the coordinating minister of the economy said with the continuing down ward trend of the crude oil price below the federal benchmark in 2015 budget, government must look at options to complement the deficit.

According to her, additional measures to address the deficit in the budget are underway.
“The budget is with the National Assembly, let me just tell you that measurers are being made, so that we can manage the budget and the economy at whatever the price of oil remain,Daily Trust reports.
No one knows the bottom of oil price, once it stabilises and we know the bottom, we will follow with appropriate measures.”
“We are working everyday with different scenario, we are following exactly the plans we told Nigerians. There are scenarios at $55, at $50 and even below. And I believe, though this year will be a very difficult year for the country, but we have the tools and we know how to apply them. Working together will be able to take this country through this year,” the minister added.
