A nun was fired from her job as a teacher after stabbing a boy during a lesson about the suffering of Jesus.

Sister Ludovita, 30, of Kysucke Nove Mesto in northern Slovakia, was teaching religious education classes when she stabbed a boy on the hand with a needle to show how Jesus suffered.Slovakia asked the unsuspecting student, who was identified as 7-year-old Adam Celko, to come to the front of the class.

She then took a needle out of her bag and to the horror of the student and his classmates, she rammed it into the child’s hand, saying that this was how Jesus suffered and he would too if he misbehaved.

When Adam Celko got home, his mother, Helena, 30, saw the wound on his hand and asked how it happened. The boy told his mother that the nun stabbed him.

“I was completely in shock. I mean, what was she thinking,” the mother said.

A school spokesperson said: “We strongly disapprove of this kind of teaching method.”

The nun defended her action and said that the class had been learning about Jesus Christ and personal sin.

She added that the children had been invited to voluntarily experience mild pain so they could empathize with the theme.

She claimed that the students pricked themselves by choice and were not forced.

“Either way, it is inappropriate behavior and will not be tolerated in this school,” the school spokesperson said.
