Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday appointed Professor Mahmud Yakubu as new chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Yakubu hails from Bauchi state and is a professor of political history and international studies
He was Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.
He is an expert in guerrilla warfare, terrorism and counter-terrorism.
He was part of the team at last year’s national conference
