Senator Shehu Sani has outlined steps President Muhammadu Buhari must take if negotiations with Boko haram terrorists are to be successful.
In a Facebook post on August 10, Sani outlined the steps.
He wrote, ”For a successful negotiation with the insurgents,these factors must be taken into consideration;(1)willingness and resolve of the insurgents to dialogue
(2)the nation must be on the position of strength
(3)Commitment of the Government to the terms and agreement of the negotiation
(4)Representation from the insurgents must be credible.
(5)the sensibilities of victims must be taken into consideration.
(6)a caveat on conceding an inch of Nigeria’s territory.
(7)A team of arbiters locally or internationally to ensure implementation of the terms of agreement.
