The Afikpo South Police Division under the Ebonyi State Police Command, is currently quizzing a 78-year-old man, Pa Oji Nnachi, for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl.

The incident which happened at Nkelu-Ezi, Ogwuma in Afikpo South local government area of the state, has thrown the sleepy community into confusion with many believing Pa Nnachi must have been under a spiritual attack when he committed the sordid act.

The father of the young victim, Nnachi  Ndukwe, while lamenting the calamity that has befallen his beloved child, said he was shocked when he aw blood gushing out of the private part of his child and on interrogation, the girl said that it was Pa Nnachi who defiled her.

Ndukwe however blamed the rape on the absence of his wife who he said left him and married another man, subjecting him to difficulty in taking proper care of his children as he is always busy looking for money carter for them.

Ndukwe said:

“I came back from work and saw people gathered in my compound and when I asked what happened, they narrated the incident to me.

Then I asked to see my daughter and when she was brought to me, I saw blood coming from her private part.

I don’t blame the man, I blame my wife who left me and married another man. Since she left there has been noone around to take proper care of my children.”
