According to a report by CNN, 9 days after Boko Haram launched an attack on Baga community in Borno state on January 3rd, bodies of the reported 2000 residents killed still litter the area.

Chairman of Kukawa Local Government where Baga falls under, says no corpse has been retrieved from the area for burial because Baga is still not safe to go into. “It is still no‎t safe to go and pick them up for burial,” he said

Sen. Maina Ma’aji Lawan representing Borno North senatorial district told CNN that Baga is still not accessible as members of the sect group are still there. “Baga is not accessible because it is still occupied by Boko Haram” he said
