The just resigned Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Osaro Onaiwu, has purchased the nomination forms for the governorship election in Edo State, on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Addressing newsmen shortly after collecting his nomination form, Tuesday inAbuja, Onaiwu said he is impressed by the model of governance as examplified in Anambra state.

On why he has decided to dump the PDP for APGA, Onaiwu retorted, ” I been serving 36 governors of the country and not just PDP. I am looking at a model I can copy and I feel APGA has the model I can copy,” he said.

Speaking about the challenge posed by APC and its candidate backed by the out-going governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole, the aspirant said it is voters in Edo state will decide who their next governor would be.

He added that he is the only candidate that has no scandal, stressing that he has not case at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).He also denied insinuations that he got loans from governors to contest the forthcoming election.

“I am very confident. I have seen the two parties. I am confident that APGA will win. I am going home without garbage. From what I have seen in PDP anis APC in Edo state, I believe that victory is our, ApGa and that people are going to come out and vote for APGA.” he said.

On his chances in Edo Govenors contest he said” it is not money that matters in this business but the vision . It is what you are taken to the people. Even if it is 20 million we will be able to afford it but that is not the issue I tIs what you want to give back to the people. It is what you are taking home.

On his part, the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye expressed confidence on the chances of the party in the governorship contest in Edo state.

“APGA is a party for the future, a party that have a clean bill of health. APC and PDP have produce unaceptable candidates in Edo. Unlike others we dont force candidate to the electorates.

“Edo state is in bondage and must be liberated and that is what APGA is all about to do. What we have in Edo is sectional development, and that is why APGA is the alternative, we want to replicate in Anambra in Edo exemplify by our candidate, Osaro Onaiwu. We have said that APGA is the party to beat in 2019,” he added.
