Why I Have Not Formed A Cabinet – Gov. Rauf Aregbesola Reveals

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has explained reason why he has not constituted his cabinet two years on, saying doing so would put serious financial strain on his administration.

The governor, who stated this while hosting journalists across the state to a get-together fast-breaking dinner tagged “Iftar with Ogbeni” at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo, said he would rather concentrate his effort on management of the state economy instead of putting up a cabinet that would further place heavy financial burden on people of the state.

He said he was being careful to form a cabinet to assist him in
governance because, according to him, doing so would cost the state about N100 million monthly with salary of the 26 members of the state House of Assembly.

Aregbesola said his administration would not be deterred in its resolve to take the state to an enviable height despite alleged myriad of sponsored media attacks on his person and government.

The governor, who re-affirmed his commitment towards the successful completion of all the initiated capital projects across the state, promised to continue on the template of good governance and pro-masses policies, saying: “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.”

He, therefore, called on the people of the state to support the government by faithfully carrying out their civic responsibilities through regular and prompt payment of their taxes.
