The Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, says he has implemented a new salary structure for civil servants, public servants and legislators in line with the recommendations of the recently submitted salary review report.

The Governor, who disclosed this at the council chambers of the Government House in Lafia in the presence of top government functionaries, said the decision was prompted by the current economic downturn that has affected revenue to the state.

Mr Al-Makura, however, said he is hopeful that the decision would enable him sustain the payment of salaries.
