An-accident-scene-on-the-road

Six undergraduates of the Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti died in an auto crash which occurred in front of the institution yesterday.

A witness account said that the victims, whose names could not be ascertained as at press time, died on the spot after their vehicle had a head-on collision with a mini bus popularly called ‘akoto’.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the development, adding that his men had evacuated five dead bodies and deposited them in the morgue of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.

A witness told journalists that the crash was caused by some heavily drunk boys. “They drove carelessly and collided with the commercial bus,” he said.

“Six people died on the spot. The men of the Federal Road Safety Corps have taken the corpse of the dead to the morgue.”
