Exxon Mobil Corp has denied that its facilities in the Niger Delta was attacked after the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) claimed an alleged attack on the oil giant’s facilities on Monday night.

“At about 7:30pm the Niger Delta Avengers blow up Exxon Mobil Qua Iboe 48″ crude oil export pipeline. When will these International Oil companies (IOC) learn to listen? We (Niger Delta Avengers) said no export,” said NDA’s spokesperson Mudoch Agbinibo in a message posted to the group’s website on Monday night.

But Mobil claimed there was no such attack on any of its facilities in the country.

“There were no attacks on our facilities,” said Exxon Mobil spokesman Todd Spitler.

Qua Iboe is said to be Nigeria’s largest crude oil stream and exports usually amount to more than 300,000 barrels per day.

NDA has emerged as the most prominent militant group in the Niger Delta region in 2016 with series of attacks launched on oil installations belonging to Shell, Chevron, ENI and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
