According to the statement, the nine affected workers and director were indicted in the report of the committee which investigated salary payments in the state.

The added that the affected officials would be prosecuted for the roles they played in defrauding the government.

The statement explained that four staff of the state pension funds trustees had been handed over to the police for alleged fraudulent activities.

“The perpetrators have been handed over to police while the matter is currently under investigation at the state Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission.”

It said that the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Na’iya, has warned civil servants in the state against fraudulent activities as anyone caught would be sacked.
