Rio 2016 Olympic Table Tennis: Nigeria’s Offiong Edem Defeats Yee Sally 4-0

Nigeria’s Offiong Edem has qualified for the next round of the Table Tennis event after she beat Yee Sally from Fiji 4-0 in the women’s singles preliminary round at the on-going Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The 2011 African Games women singles champion defeated Sally in four straight sets 11-3, 11-8, 11-3 and 11-2.

She will face Pavlovich Victoria from Belarus in the next round by 7:15pm later today.

Meanwhile, Funke Oshonaike is currently battling Mariana Sahakian  in another fixture with scores even after the first two rounds.

The event which served off today will end next Wednesday.
