The Indigenous People of Biafra on Thursday, August 11, said 20 of its members detained by security agencies have been released

The release the group said was carried out following an order from the attorney general of the federation Abubakar Malami, the spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra Powerful Emma in a press statement said that some of the members of the group who were arrested in Aba, Abia state.

Also following the release said to have been ordered by the attorney general of the federation Abubakar Malami, there were jubilation in various city across the south eastern part of Nigeria.

Also received from the group is a list of 20 members – 14 men and six women – of the IPOB who were released.

These IPOB members include: John Onyebuchi ‘M’, 52; Joseph Okorie ‘M’ ,25; Ikechukwu Obi ‘M’, 35; Ifeanyi Okike ‘M’, 65; Ani Chimezie ‘M’, 62; Emeka Ezeugo ‘M’, 30; Chibuzo Okpara ‘F’, 40; Donatus Okeke ‘M’, 36; Okechukwu Nnebennum ‘M’, 34 and Jude Aniche ‘M’, 48. Others are: Amos Nkemjika Ezekiel ‘M’, 43; Ngozi Onuora ‘F’, 30; Goodness Emeka ‘F’, 25; Nene Ekwueme ‘F’, 52; Amarachi Chukwu ‘F’, 22; Oluchukwu Bekee ‘F’, 48; Igwechukwu Ebuka ‘M’, 26; Okwudili Okafor ‘M’, 35; Nnadike Obasi ‘M’, 29 and Monday Ibeji ‘M’, 25 Emma in a statement sent to NAIJ.com said the members were arrested by several security agencies during one of their prayer sessions in Aba on February 2.

Meanwhile members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) have commended the attorney general of the federation for releasing these members arrested by various security agencies.
