Ese-BrumeTeam Nigeria’s Efe Brume is through to the final of the women’s long jump event at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics.

Brume, the only African in the final, qualified as the sixth best jumper with a leap of 6.67m. The reigning Commonwealth Champion will hope she can ruffle feathers for a possible podium finish.
The Women’s Long Jump final is fixed for 9.15 p.m. Brazil time, about 1.15 a.m. on Thursday in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, there was more disappointment for Nigeria on the tracks where the country’s hope for a place in the men’s 110m hurdles finals evaporated with the last place finish of Antwon Hicks in his semi final race.

Nigeria will hope her athletes get it right on Wednesday as Tobi Amusan will be competing in the 100m hurdles semi final while the final comes up hours later.

Also Divine Oduduru will be racing alongside Usain Bolt in one of the two men’s semi final races. The race is fixed for 2 a.m. Thursday morning.
