4 UNILAG Students Jailed For Cultism

A Lagos State Chief Magistate’s Court sitting in Ebute-Metta, yesterday, remanded four undergraduates of University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka for their alleged involvement in cultism.

Chief Magistate Oluwayemisi Adelaja gave the remand order of the undergraduate: Raheem Yusuf, 21, Adedoyin Adeyemi Abraham,24, Olanrewaju Idowu, 36, and 24 year-old Safraini Oluyemi Peters after they were arraigned before it by the policemen from State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID).

They were docked before court on two counts charge of conspiracy to cause breach of public peace and belonging to an unlawful and secret society, known as Aloral Bucania.

According to the police, the four accused persons had on August 4, 2016. at about 9.30am, at Room 318, Biobaku Hall of UNILAG, conspired among themselves to commit an offence likely to cause breach of public peace.

The prosecutor, Adebayo Oladele, informed the court that the offences are contrary to and punishable under sections 409 and 42(a)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
The four Undergraduates, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
