Super Eagles captain, Mikel has beaten fellow Nigerian team mate Oghenekaro Etebo to the Complete Sports Player of the Month for August.
This is the second time Mikel will be voted winner of the CS monthly award after first winning it in February 2016.
Mikel had an overwhelming 85 per cent of the votes from Complete Sports readers and Completesportsnigeria.com users to finish ahead of Oghenekaro Etebo who had 11 per cent, while Imoh Ezekiel got six per cent.
