A 31-year-old lady identified as Ifunaya Eme, had been arrested for dumping her baby by the roadside two hours after giving birth to her.

Stung by the harsh weather, the baby’s cries alerted a passerby who called the Ajangbadi police command in Lagos state. The baby was taken to the hospital for proper care.

The police then traced a trickle of blood to the lady who eventually confessed to dumping her.

Eme said she’s a sales person in tricycle shop and that the pay wasn’t much.

“I gave up my daughter because I had no help and my mother is dead. I don’t even know the whereabouts of her father.

“The only thing I know is that he told me he was traveling. Since that day till now, the number he gave me can’t be reached.”
