A suspected bomber reportedly blew himself up while riding on a motorcycle along Kasuwan Mata area of Gombe town, Gombe State.

According to Daily Trust, as a result of the incident which occurred today, January 13, about 6:30 pm, only the suspect was killed.

The Nation reports however that the blast killed 2 people, while 21 were injured and rushed to the Specialist Hospital in the state capital.

Reports reaching us say that the attacker might have targeted the mosque.

The sources disclosed that after the explosion the outraged crowd gathered in the area to burn the remains of the alleged attacker’s body.

One of the witnesses said:

“The bomber was driving along the Kasuwan Mata road when suddenly the bomb he was carrying exploded killing him and damaging the motorcycle he was using. After the incidence a group of angry mob that were around when the incident happened gathered the scattered human parts and burned it to ashes.”

It would be recalled that 2 weeks ago another suicide bomber killed himself and injured 10 other people on at Mallam Inna as he tried to enter a church.
