Mother of Governor Willie Obiano, Akopokuedike has died after a brief illness.
Obiano’s mother, ”Akpokuedike” passed on, Friday, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi by 3pm.
Until her death, she was unconscious and has been in the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, of the Hospital for months.
The news of her death was released by the NAUTH Community.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had passed a vote of confidence in Obiano and also endorsed him for a second term.
The death of the governor’s mother is not likely to affect his bid for a second term.
