No fewer than 12 police personnel raided the house of former Attorney-General of the Federation Mohammed Adoke (SAN) on Friday in Okene, central part of Kogi state.

The security operatives were said to have come from the force headquarters in Abuja.

They reportedly looked for cash and undisclosed documents before departing the place after about two hours.

According to media reports, the policemen did produce a search warrant from a High Court of Justice in the Gudu District Abuja. But they did not state their mission.

A Punch report says they ransacked the duplex including Adoke’s bedroom, his wife’s bedroom, the roof and the toilets.

His younger brother Abdul Adoke was said to be around at the time.

He said, “The policemen presented a search warrant obtained from the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu in Abuja. Their leader identified himself as a police officer from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, but he refused to disclose his identity.

“We cooperated with them and at the end of the day, nothing was found. They wrote a report declaring that the duplex was free of any incriminating documents. I and four others also signed the report.”

The former minister is facing trial for his alleged involvement in a $1bn Malabu Oil Block deal.
