Sacked national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff on Tuesday said he has received no invitation to any of the meetings held since his removal.

The former Borno state governor, who is reported to be currently out of the country, made this disclosure through Bernard Mikko, the faction’s pre-Supreme Court judgement National Working Committee spokesperson.

He said the erstwhile chairman has urged those who sided with him during the faction war with Senator Ahmed Makarfi not to lose faith nor decamp to other political parties.

Mikko said “Senator Ali Modu Sheriff was neither in the country nor invited to the assemblage at Wadata Plaza yesterday evening.

“However, he will address a World Press Conference (WPC) to throw light on the way forward after we have received and studied the full judgement of the Supreme Court and analysed its import on our democracy.

“We therefore appeal to all our loyal supporters nationwide not to defect as we are still committed to bringing the party back to the grassroots.”

Four meetings have been held in the party’s national headquarters between Monday and Tuesday and none featured Sheriff or any member of his group.
