Senator Buruji Kashamu (PDP/Ogun East) has disclosed that nobody can send him out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that he had no plan of leaving the former ruling party.

He was reacting to the defection of some members of the PDP, who were considered to be his loyalists, to the Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN).

The lawmaker said the reports linking him to the alleged defection were being spread by one of the aides of Governor Ayo Fayose.

”I wish to state without mincing words that the misleading report linking me with the move was concocted and spread on social media by Mr. Lere Olayinka, who is an aide of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose,” he said.

Kashamu said that since the Apex Court had resolved the leadership crisis in the party, he had congratulated the PDP Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

He said he was surprised that Fayose could criticise the olive branch extended by the party’s national leadership to some members of the party who played prominent roles during the crisis.
