Nobel laureate and pro-girl education activist, Malala Yousafzai on Thursday announced her admittance to Oxford University to study philosophy, politics and economics (PPE).

The 20-year-old made the disclosure on her Twitter page with a captioned image of the confirmation.

“So excited to go to Oxford!! Well done to all A-level students – the hardest year. Best wishes for life ahead!” she tweeted.

Malala, the youngest Nobel Laureate, came to the world’s attention when her fight for the girl-child’s right to education led to being shot.

The then 13-year-old Malala was on her way back from school when a member of the Taliban in her home country of Pakistan shot her.

She was in a coma for days while receiving treatment first in Pakistan and later in the United Kingdom.
