Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have reportedly agreed to negotiate with Barcelona for the transfer of Philippe Coutinho.

The Americans had issued a public statement earlier this month, making it clear that the 25-year-old midfielder was not for sale.

But Spanish outlet, Sport, claims Coutinho’s representatives on Friday night persuaded the owners and they are now willing to listen to what Barca have to offer.

Liverpool have already rejected three bids from the La Liga giants, despite the Brazilian handing in a transfer request.

It said all that remains is for Liverpool to sign a replacement, before agreeing to sell him for close to £148m.
