The Senate may extend the six-month suspension handed to former Senate Leader Senator Ali Ndume (APC-Borno South).

Senate spokesman Sabi Abdullahi had disclosed on Wednesday that Ndume was expected to resume on 14 November.

But a source has hinted that the resumption might be shifted.

It is understood that Ndume’s resumption might be delayed, if he failed to withdraw the suit he instituted against the Senate at a Federal High Court in Abuja.

A source told Guardian that the six-month suspension, which began in March 27, 2017, might not end on the supposed date, because public holidays and non-legislative sitting days were not part of the suspension.

Ndume was suspended on 27 March, 2017, following the recommendation of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, led by Samuel Anyanwu, after founding out that his (Ndume) allegations against Senate President Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melaye were false.
