Dino Melaye Suffers Angry Mob Attack As He Attends Kabba Day Event In Kogi

Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West) was on Saturday attacked by angry youths during the celebration of the ongoing 2017 edition of Kabba Day.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State shunned the celebration over fear of been attacked by the angry youths.

According to reports, the governor was already in Kabba to attend the annual occasion before news filtered around that some youths at the same occasion which the governor was to attend attacked Melaye.

Trouble was said to have started when the lawmaker, joined other dignitaries for the celebrations in Kabba.

Melaye’s supporters hailed him as he entered the Kabba Township Stadium, venue of the event but the tide changed when he was about leaving the venue after delivering his goodwill message.

The angry youths attacked him. The mob followed him outside the stadium, stoning his cars which was hurriedly driven away from the venue.

The mob claimed he was not representing the zone well in the National Assembly, but busy fighting the leaders who are helping them at home.

The Senator escaped unhurt but the windscreens of a vehicle in his convoy were smashed by the angry youths.
