Kaduna Commissioner of Education, Prof. Andrew Nok Is Dead

Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Jonathan Andrew Nok, has reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday after a brief illness.

He was aged 55.

As at the time of filing this report, circumstances leading to his sudden death has yet to be ascertained.

Nok, born on 11 February 1962, hailed from Nok Village in Jaba Local Government area of the State.

He was initially appointed as the Commissioner of Health and Human Services by Governor Nasir el-Rufai.

Until his appointment as commissioner, Nok was a professor of Biochemistry at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and also the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the institution.
