Gov. Abubakar Appoints Baba Umar As New Emir Of Katagum

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi state has approved the appointment of Alhaji Baba Umar Farouq as the new Emir of Katagum.

Farouq replaces Alhaji Kabir Umar, who died last week Saturday at the age of 89 after a protracted illness.

Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Muhammad Nadada Umar, conveyed the governor’s approval to the Emir and members of the Katagum Emirate Council.

Immediately after the governor’s approval, Alhaji Baba Umar was turbaned as the 12th Emir of Katagum.
