The Nigerian Army on Monday disclosed that its men killed three Boko Haram terrorists and recovered 200 cattle in Borno state.

The disclosure was made by Brig.-Gen. Sani Kukasheka, the Director of Army Public Relations, in a statement released in Maiduguri.

Kukasheka said the recovered cattle were earlier rustled in Makandari village, Kala Balge local government area of Borno state.

The exchange of fire took place on Saturday at Beneri village, resulting in the death of two of the insurgents and recovery of stolen cattle.

Another gun battle took place in Firgi, Bama local government area, where troop members ambushed a detachment of insurgents, killing one.

In all, the cattle, one AK-47 rifle, an emptied magazine, two motorcycles and a National Identity Card, were recovered from the insurgents.

Kukasheka said, “Troops of 21 Brigade, Operation Lafiya Dole, in conjunction with elements of 121 Battalion, on Friday, laid an ambush for Boko Haram terrorists at one of their suspected crossing points near Firgi, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.”
