Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on Sunday stated his readiness to stay on the job and turn the fortunes of the team around.

The manager, who has come under fire after a run of poor results, including a 2-1 defeat at Brighton said he is still confident in his abilities to manage the team to success.

Speaking to SkySports after the game, Arsene said: “It’s the first time it happens in my whole career, I must say.

“It’s not easy, but I have enough experience and enough desire to turn things around and I must say that, at the moment, when you need to stay in the game we are making a few mistakes at the wrong moments.

“We have to stick together and focus. We have no other solution.”

The loss makes Wenger’s job less assured and raises questions on if the team can win the only silverware available to them: the Uefa Europa League. Winning the competition would offer Arsenal a backdoor into the Uefa Champions League with Wenger conceding a top four place is not possible anymore.

“You focus on your job. These are always the questions you get when you are in the situation we are in.

“You do your job and you do the right thing and the things you think are right for the team and that’s it,” he added.
