The Presidency has reacted the bomb blasts in Adamawa on Tuesday which it describes as “tragic and despicable” while sending its condolences to the families of the deceased.

At least 60 people were on Tuesday killed in twin suicide blasts in Mubi, Adamawa state, according to residents in the area.

“I took part in the burial of 68 people. More bodies were being brought by families of the victims,” a resident who attended a funeral of the victims told AFP.

And in a tweet on its handle, the presidency said:

“Today’s suicide bomb attacks in Mubi,Adamawa State, targeting a Mosque and Market, are tragic & despicable.

“Our sympathies go to the victims, their families, the Govt & people of Adamawa. Our special gratitude to all the rescue workers & medical personnel who attended to victims.”
