The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed the date for the orientation programme of prospective corps members deployed to Kaduna state indefinitely.

NYSC management, in a statement sent to okay.ng saying it took the decision following the security crisis in the state.

okay.ng recalls that  a 24-hour curfew was declared in Kaduna town and its environs due to crisis in the state.

The atmosphere in the state has been tensed since on Thursday when Muslims and Christians in Kasuwan Magani community in Kajuru local government area of the state clashed.

The course, earlier scheduled to commence October 23, has been postponed “till further notice”.

NYSC advised the prospective corps members to remain at home till the management announces any development.

“The Management of National Youth Service Corps wishes to inform all 2018 Batch ‘C’ prospective Corps Members deployed to Kaduna State that the commencement of the Orientation Course earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 23rd October 2018 has been suspended till further notice due to the current security situation and consequent curfew imposed by the State Government,” the statement read.

“Affected prospective Corps Members are advised to remain at home until further notice from the NYSC Management.

“However, all other prospective Corps Members deployed to other States and FCT are to report at the various orientation camps on Tuesday, 23rd October 2018 as scheduled.
