The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reacted to a publication that it seized a containers filled with dollars at the Apapa Port in Lagos.

okay understands that the reports claimed the containers belongs to presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Joseph Attah, the National Public Relations Officer of the NCS has denied the reports of the 40 containers filled with dollars seized at the Port.

He also warned rumour mongers to stop spreading fake news as such could overheat the nation’s political space.

Mr Attah also revealed the contain found in the 40 seized contains at the port.

“I want to state clearly that the 40 containers seized in Apapa were containing dreaded tramadol and other pain killer drugs, not dollars,” he said.

In his words, he added: “We have never seized any container containing American dollars. This kind of fabrication is false, misleading and capable of causing unnecessary panic on the polity.”
