Babachir Lawal, former SGF, has been granted bail by a FCT high court sitting Maitama.

Okay Nigeria had reported that the former SGF pleaded not guilty for fraud charges filed against him.

However, Babachir Lawal and two others has been granted bail in the sum of N50million each, with one surety each who must possess titles to land within the jurisdiction of the court and must show evidence of payment of tax for the past 3 years.

The court also held that the former SGF, and the two others must deposit their international passport with the court pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions.

The court adjourned to 18th March 2019, stating that the defendants must remain in the custody of the EFCC until they fulfill their bail conditions.
