Senate summons Police IG to brief on kidnappings, insecurity in Nigeria

The Nigerian Senate has invited the Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), to brief lawmakers on insecurity and kidnappings around the country.

The acting IGP was invited to help profer lasting solution to the menace which have affected states like Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara and Niger.

The Senate also urged the federal government to set-up an inter-agency task force to help tackle the cases of banditry and kidnapping.

Mohammed Adamu was invited during plenary on Thursday.
