Sultan calls on Muslims to begin Ramadan fast on Monday

The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar ‎III has called on Muslims in Nigeria to commence fasting on Monday, May 6, as he declared first day of Ramadan, 1440 AH.

The Sultan says the moon is sighted in many cities in Nigeria and verified by the moon sighting committee of the Sultanate council.

The Sultan while announcing the moon sighting in his palace instruct muslims across Nigeria to commence the Ramadan fast on Monday.

He urged Muslims to use the Holy month to pray for Nigeria and her leaders.
