Nigeria’s Muhammad-Bande has taken over as President of the 74th UN General Assembly.

Muhammad-Bande was sworn in during a handover ceremony held inside the General Assembly Hall of the UN headquarters in New York.

Top officials of the UN-led by the Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, alongside Maria Espinosa, the President of the 73rd UN General Assembly, graced the ceremony on Monday.

The Director-General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, and presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, represented Nigeria at the event.
