The Court of Appeal on Friday nullified the election of the member representing Kiru/Bebeji Constituency of Kano State, Abdulmuminu Jibrin, ordering for a fresh election.

The appellate court ruled that the entire election conducted in the two local government areas that make up the Constituency was faulty on the grounds that the final result contained in Form EC (8)E was mutilated.

Justice Ajoke Adepoju, delivering the judgment said since the result was mutilated, any presumption on the actual result was a hearsay.

Okay.ng recalls that on September 12 the election petition tribunal had affirmed Jibrin of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of Bebeji/Kiru Federal constituency of Kano State in the February 27, 2019 election.
