INEC pauses collation of Kogi election results, to resume Monday

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the collation of results of the governorship election in Kogi State to Monday, November 17.

Professor Ibrahim Umar, the Returning Officer for the election, made the announcement on Sunday, at the collation centre in Lokoja.

Umar, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, said the excercise would continue by 9:00 am on Monday.

He noted that the adjournment was necessary as the results of the election in the remaining two local governments have yet to be available.

So far, results from 18 local governments have been announced since the collation exercise began.
