Buhari asks Senate to consider approval of $30bn borrow plan

President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded a reconsideration request to the 9th Senate to approve the 2016-2018 external borrowing plan.

Okay.ng understands that the $30 billion borrowing plan for infrastructure projects and budget support until 2018 was rejected by the eight Senate, led by Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

On Thursday, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan read from Buhari on his request for the National Assembly to consider and approve the Federal Government 2016, 2018 external borrowing plan.

The letter states that the loan is meant to finance infrastructure projects across the country.
