The Federal Government will on Sunday, December 1st, reopen Kara Bridge to ease traffic flow on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Okay.ng understands that the recontraction work on the bridge has caused severe traffic flow on that axis of the road.

Adedamola Kuti, the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, confirmed the reopening plans to reporters on Saturday.

He noted that the inbound part of the bridge has been completed, however, the outbound section will commence in January.

Kuti said, “Now that inbound has been completed, we don’t want to start work on the outbound and leave it halfway, so we decided to open the road to commuters tomorrow, Sunday, so that people can move freely this Christmas.”

It can be recalled that the road from Kara Bridge inward Berger had since September been closed when the reconstruction started.
