Nigerian singer, Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force.

Okay.ng gathered at the time of writing this report the police had filed charges against Naira Marley at the Lagos State Special Offences Court at Ikeja for violating the COVID-19 order banning interstate travels earlier put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

It can be recalled that on Saturday, July 13, travelled from Lagos to the Federal Capital Territory using a private jet for a concert held at the Jabi Lake Mall.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, was said to have ordered Naira Marley’s arrest.

Bala Elkana, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, speaking to journalists said Naira Marley presented himself at the command headquarters on Thursday.

In his words: “We are in court as we speak. He will be arraigned for violating the interstate travel order. That is the aspect that concerns Lagos State.”
