Buhari congratulates Abdul Samad Rabiu on appointment as president of France-Nigeria business council

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, on his appointment by French President Emmanuel Macron, as President of the newly-inaugurated France-Nigeria Business Council, a private sector initiative to enhance business relations between the two countries.

Okay.ng had reported that the BUA Group chairman met with the French President at the inaugural meeting of the council in Paris on the sidelines of the Business France Summit in Versailles, France.

The Nigerian members of the council are Gilbert Chagoury of Chagoury Group; Mike Adenuga of Globacom and Conoil; Aliko Dangote of Dangote Industries; Tony Elumelu, Chairman UBA & Heirs Holdings, and Herbert Wigwe, CEO, Access Bank.

The largest French companies, including Dassault, Danone, Axens, Ponticelli and Total Energies, are also members of the council.

Reacting to this development, President Buhari via his Instagram page said “the appointment of the BUA Chairman further highlights the warm and growing relations between Nigeria and France.”

The Nigerian President also congratulated the Nigerian members of the newly-inaugurated Business Council while stating he is pleased that Nigeria had a successful outing at the recently-held Choose France Summit.
