President Muhammadu Buhari is set to leave for Washington D.C. on Sunday to attend the United States-Africa Leaders Summit.

The summit, which will take place from December 13th to 15th, is being held at the request of United States President Joe Biden.

According to the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, the summit is intended to demonstrate the United States’ continued commitment to Africa and to explore new ways to foster economic engagement, advance peace and security, and promote good governance.

The summit will also focus on strengthening regional and global health security, addressing the climate crisis, and promoting education and youth leadership.

President Buhari is expected to return to Nigeria on December 18th.
