Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared the winner of the presidential election in Ondo state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Tinubu as the winner after he scored a total of 369,924 votes to defeat his closet rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 115,463 votes and Peter Obi of the Labour Party who polled 47,350 votes.

The election, which was keenly contested, saw Tinubu winning in 15 out of the 18 local government areas of the state, while Atiku won in the remaining three.

He has been touted as a strong contender for the presidency, with his party, the APC, presenting him as its candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
