APC’s Aliyu Ahmed declared winner of Sokoto State Governorship Election

Aliyu Ahmed, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto, has emerged victorious in the 2023 governorship election held in the state, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The announcement was made on Sunday, following the conclusion of the collation of results from all local government areas.

Ahmed, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured a total of 453,661 votes to defeat his closest rival, Umar Saidu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 404,632 votes.
