The Abia State Governor-elect, Alex Otti, has disclosed that payment of salaries will be his priority once he gets into office on May 29.

Otti said this while speaking on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show’, on Thursday.
He added that residents of the state should expect a “general restructuring.”

Okay.ng reports that Otti of the Labour Party was declared the winner of the Abia State governorship election on Wednesday having polled a total of 175,467 votes to defeat his closest rival, Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 88,529 votes to come second position.

He said, “As of yesterday, I had already started engaging banks. (The) thing they will expect is a general restructuring of Abia.

“There is no problem in taking loans, but the problem is what you do with the loans. Payment of salaries is my priority.”

“We will create a bigger economy, a robust economy; we will do everything possible to ensure our economy grows.”

He noted that he would appoint a team that would help him in his administration very soon.

Otti said, “In the next few days, I will appoint a team that will be sworn in on May 29. I will appoint the right people who will help me.

“We will look at a lot of things, but we will take it step by step, including revenue.”
